Official Description

One of the most famous operas, Commonwealth Lyric Theater brings the tragic story of Carmen to the Newton Festival of the Arts. Innocence and passion, trust and betrayal - a whirlwind of human emotions aggrandized by magnificent music. Critically-acclaimed cast, ensemble, children's chorus, original sets and costumes, unique stage direction - everything works together to create a unique experience of theater and life.

Three Performances - May 17 at 7:30PM, May 18 at 7:30PM and May 19 at 3PM

This event is part of Newton Festival of the Arts and is supported in part by a grant from the Newton Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
