Shirhan Agabeyli is a bass player, composer, and singer born in Ukraine. His parents immersed him at a very young age in different musical environments: jazz, funk, fusion, R&B, and Azerbaijan’s traditional music Mugam, a highly complex art form that merges poetry and musical improvisation. As a performer and improviser, Agabeyli combines influences that represent his ethnic Azerbaijani background with intricate rhythmical structures of jazz harmony and Mugam. He is currently pursuing a performance degree at Berklee College of Music.
