The summer is winding down, so we’re all getting back from vacations and summer festivals and back to the grind in Boston. It’s also the time for performing seasons to begin with most arts organizations around town. Naturally we should celebrate all of these things with a drink.

Come join us at one of Boston’s best bars: Drink. In the style of a speakeasy, Drink can be hard to spot from the outside; look for 348 Congress St., go downstairs (under Sportello) and you’ll find us. 

Keep in mind that Drink is all about re-introducing classic cocktails and creating new ones, so you won’t find any cocktail lists. Be ready to chat with your bartender about what you like, and they’ll come up with something just for you.

As always, individuals keep track of their own tabs at the bar. Come alone or bring some friends.

What is Opus Affair?

Opus affair is a social group for young professionals interested in the Fine Arts in Boston. We hold monthly cocktail parties at different hot spots around Boston and Cambridge. There is no specific agenda at our parties — just a chance to socialize over drinks and connect the community of young art-lovers in Boston.

Our group is intended for:
*Audience members and art fans
*Arts administrators and production staff
*Artists and performers

We have more and more new folks each month, and we’re glad to welcome more. Don’t be afraid to invite non-musicians and non-artists — Opus Affair is open to all young professionals who are interested in the arts, not just those working in the arts.

Summer is flying by, but we have time for one more Opus Affair before vacations end and responsibilities take hold. Come out to La Verdad near Fenway on August 17 to enjoy some margaritas and guac with us.

We’ll be in the private room by the bar at La Verdad. Per usual, guests run their own tabs at the bar.

Hopefully by the time the middle of July rolls around we’ll have actually had some Summer sun to celebrate…if not, then we’ll need to have a drink to keep ourselves warm. Come to Sel de la Terre on Boylston St. to bask in the afterglow of Independence day and raise a glass to the Bastille, or whatever else you feel like celebrating in July.

If you enter the restaurant from the Boylston St. entrance, you’ll walk straight into the downstairs bar, where you should have no trouble finding our group. Come alone, or bring some friends. Cash bar.

Summer has (almost) officially begun, so those of us left in Boston need to rally together and have a drink. Come out to Avila on June 15 and discuss plans to travel off to Tanglewood or other exotic locales…or figure out what is happening in town this summer.

With a top-notch wine list (amazingly-priced Veuve Clicquot), tantalizing appetizers (truffle oil fries…say no more), and a strong showing of classic cocktails (while a sazerac wasn’t on the menu, they didn’t bat an eye when I ordered one), Avila will welcome our group with style. We’ll be in the back, left area of the bar.

Avila is located in the theater district on the corner of Charles and Stuart Streets.
